I'm Mike Weldon
Mike Weldon was born in Johannesburg in 1945 of Irish/Scottish/Swedish descent.
He married Rosemary (nee Cockcroft) in 1968, and has a son, Quentin (married to Sharon) and two grandchildren.
The family lived in Namibia until 1966, Durban until 1980, Johannesburg until 2000, Clarens until 2019, and Mike and Rosemary now live in Kragga Kamma, Port Elizabeth, to which his family originally immigrated from Ireland in the late 1840s.
Mike was educated at Christian Brothers College (CBC) in Kimberley from 1956 until1961, and graduated with BA and BCom degrees from the University of Natal Durban in 1969 and 1973 respectively, majoring in Economics and Finance.
Mike’s hobbies and loves include golf, dogs, reading, and writing. He has been involved with various Catholic progammes over the years, including the Charismatic Renewal movement, Evangelisation 2000, and the Alpha Program.
Mike attended the Charismatic Leaders’ Conference in 1991 at the University of Steubenville in Ohio, where he, something he regards as a life changing experience.
