Religious life is undergoing great trials from several global influencing factors and the rise of liberal democracy. At the same time, the same globalisation is bringing new opportunities for consecrated life. The challenge of our generation is to provide a credible witness of our faith in Jesus Christ in the service of the mission of the Church.
Against this background, this book, The Future of Religious Life in Africa: Trials and Vision, tries to address various themes on religious life viewed from the modern perspective. Each theme addresses an aspect of religious life. The objective of this book is to proffer some reflections on our life as consecrated persons in Africa.
